Currently, I am renting aircraft from a flight school with a healthy fleet of light sport aircraft, and I've had lots of fun in doing so however the airport is a little over an hour drive from where I live. During my training, I trained with a flight school that was closer to my house however they sold their Cessna 162 a few days after my checkride and I had to start renting where I do now. I've been trying to network with other pilots who may perhaps own an LSA, and in my search I tracked down a Tecnam P2004 that appears to be based at another airport somewhat close to me (KJGG if you're curious). I actually know a pilot there who owns a 172 however they aren't familiar with the airplane/owner, to the aircraft owners of this forum what is the best way to network with aircraft owners to perhaps be able to fly their aircraft when a commercial flight school isn't readily available?

AOPA has a host of resources regarding shared ownership options, and formation of flying clubs. If you're a member, you should call their Pilot Information Center number. They may not be able to find you partners, but they can certainly help you to structure an arrangement once you do.
