lsa pilot age insurance limit?

Post by jjfjr »

Hi;

I've heard that many (most? all?) insurance agencies tend to not insure pilots of tailwheel aircraft beyond the age of 79. I'm not there yet (I'm 63) just thinking ahead. Is this correct? If so, does it apply to lsa as well as non-lsa aircraft? Are there any age limitations for nosewheel aircraft?

In December, at age 74, I acquired a new taildragger LSA. I had no difficulty securing insurance, though the premium was on the high side. Ask me again in 5 years...
