Mechanic near Beaufort SC

Post by JJ Campbell »

I'm thinking of buying a plane that is located in Beaufort SC. Does anyone have any recommendations for a mechanic to do a pre-purchase inspection?

If you are looking at a CT I would start here. http://flightdesignusa.com/support/service-center-map/

My mechanic is based at Twin Lakes air park (S17)
Near Aiken SC .A&P IA pilot and fully trained on Rotax engines with good experience on LSA.
Don’t know if this helps?
If you’re interested I can pass on his details.

If you're looking at a Rotax-powered aircraft, be sure to find a mechanic who's had the Rotax factory training and certification (not all A&Ps know that engine). You can search under the "service provider" pulldown at http://rotaxflyingclub.com

You can also use this map to find a certified LSRM-A in that same area who might be able to help. https://rainbowaviation.com/?page_id=4854

I agree with others that whatever plane you are looking at get someone who has knowledge of that specific plane. I find this to be invaluable. Also, Rotax training is a must in my opinion.

He is 100 miles from KARW but depending on how quickly he can do the inspection and the cost, it might be a good solution.

My mechanic is:-

Dana Linn 803-761-7242 cell

I just spoke to him. He’s happy to talk with you.
What kind of plane and engine are you looking at?

Thanks, I've gotten over that hurdle and should be picking the plane up in middle of next week. Thanks for the help.

I used Dana for my rubber parts change. He seems very knowledgeable and competent.

A friend has his Remos with Dana right now for the same thing - weather permitting we pick it up next week.
