Master Mechanic Award

I'm pleased to announce that, tonight at an online (Zoom) FAA Safety Team meeting, I was presented with the Charles Taylor Master Mechanic Award, for fifty years of contributions to aviation safety.

For those not aware, Charles Taylor was the Wright Brothers' mechanic, who designed and built the internal combustion engine that powered the Wright Flyer.

Thanks for the kind words, fellow aviators. Actually, this is a longevity award. Survive long enough in the aviation industry, and you too can get one! :wink:

Congratulations! I have a few more years before I am eligible. I started helping in the shop in 1980, and then went to school and received my A&P in 1983.

Paul,

Just wanted to say congratulations on the Master Mechanic award. I watched your most recent EAA webinar last night (finally!) and learned a lot. I so appreciate the fact that you take time to give back to the community like this. Thank you again!
