Jabiru 230 / 250 (rent)

Talk about airplanes! At last count, there are 39 (and growing) FAA certificated S-LSA (special light sport aircraft). These are factory-built ready to fly airplanes. If you can't afford a factory-built LSA, consider buying an E-LSA kit (experimental LSA - up to 99% complete).

Jabiru 230 / 250 (rent)

Post by bluesky »

Hello,

does anyone know where you can rent or test-fly a jabiru 230 / 250?
I am interested in maybe buying one because the specs are quite nice.
I am located in Jacksonville, FL anything in a radius of 3-400 miles would work.

Thanks,

Bluesky

Bluesky, I'd recommend you contact Scott Severen a US Sport Planes in Denton Texas. He is the official dealer in the US for their aircraft. I'm sure he knows where every one of the planes are in the US and he'd be able to tell you the closet one to Jacksonville. I'm sure there's an owner within your radius that would love to take you on a demo ride. Worse case you fly out to Texas and demo both the 230 and the 250 with Scott and then make your decision. I'm sure he has new and preowned Jabiru for you to look over. Sound like a plan?

As ShawnM mentioned, Scott Severen, owner of US Sport Planes at DTO, is the man to speak to if you're interested in a Jabiru. He maintains relationships with Jabiru owners across the country, so if anyone knows of a Jabiru to rent in your area, it's Scott.

Also worth mentioning is that In The Pattern is the official Jabiru transition training provider, and is also located at DTO. In addition to flight training and aircraft rentals, they often provide demo/familiarization flights to prospective Jabiru buyers. I know the folks at In The Pattern very well, and refer friends to them without hesitation, as this is where I earned my Sport Pilot license in their beautiful 2010 Jabiru J230-SP (pictured below).

Hi,

thanks for the info. How did you like the plane? I never flew one before but the specs sound good.

It's a great airplane, I really enjoy flying it. It's very quick (for an LSA) due to the 120 hp engine, and climb rates are amazing even in the Texas heat. Very comfortable, awesome for cross country flying, especially since most Jabirus have autopilot. The center stick is a little unusual, but you get used to it very quickly.

I realise this is a rather old post, but Get Inspired Flight in Jasper, GA (KJZP) has a Jabiru 250.
