Light Sport Aircraft repairman certificate with inspection rating

Are you building/buying/flying an Experimental Amateur-Built (E-AB) or Experimental Light Sport (E-LSA) aircraft? Converting an S-LSA to E-LSA? Changing or adding equipment, or otherwise modifying an S-LSA? Need help with Letters of Authorization? Or maybe designing your own aircraft? This forum is the place to discuss All Things Experimental.

Light Sport Aircraft repairman certificate with inspection rating

Post by arizonarotors »

Hi,
I have only done a cursory search, but I'm having difficulty finding places to take the 16 hour course. I would prefer the Phoenix area, but will go where I have to.

Is there a list somewhere of locations/organizations that conduct the LSAR-Inspection course?

Rainbow Aviation is the group I'm most familiar with... Their schedule is online. I don't see anything in Arizona, but they have courses scheduled as follows:
  • Oshkosh (Aug 2-3)
    Aurora, OR (Sept 18-19)
    Lititz, PA (Sept 25-26)
    Kingsville, MO (Dec 4-5)
They are based in Kingsville, MO. If you reach out to them, they may have additional courses in the works that aren't finalized yet.

And if you want that OSH course (two days away), you better hurry!

Good luck!

I took the 2 day course from Rainbow Aviation here in Florida. It was a great class and very informative. Got my certificate after the test at the end of the class and took it to the Tampa FSDO for my license. I would recommend Rainbow Aviation.
