I fabricated a GoPro mount for the RV12 wing handle. A friend CNC part and I used scrap aluminum to frame the opening of the hand hold. It is held by two screws and the volume it takes up the opening. The top and bottom sandwich it to hold it in place. Easy on in a minute and padded to protect the paint, thanks Bob for the machining A few pictures from that view, I am still amazed how that little camera performs.

Why probably illegal? My RV12 is an experimental and this is better than the suction cupsMovingOn wrote:Nice...but probably illegal.

You've got me thinking about trying it on my Sky Arrow.
Should provide an equally interesting perspective, if I can find a safe way to mount it.
Thanks for the inspiration.
BTW, this is the closest I've come to the view you captured.

David,
With this mount can you use a remote to swivel the direction of the camera or do you only do this on the ground?
Right now it's set at 'selfie mode' correct?

Well I apparently have been hiding from your comment and it must be true, since I also missed you by 10 mins 2 years ago at the sentimental fly-in. You were in the pattern and I had just departed – LOL.FastEddieB wrote:You've got me thinking about trying it on my Sky Arrow.

Do you have a tie down rings, which are removable? If so I used a GoPro mount that screws into where the tie downs are installed. I can position the cameras under tail, under the wings, and now on the wing hold mount I fabricated.
Just an idea we should look for a central place between you and PA and those in the close proximity could fly in for a weekend. (maybe late Sept and Oct)
Re: GoPro mount on the Wing Handles on the RV12
Very nice pics and video. I have to confess, I usually find myself frustrated by video where the view is down the wing or to the rear. I want to see where the airplane is *going*, not whether the pilot is smiling or where he's been.
I recognize this is a mental aberration on my part, not really a critique of your videos. Just my personal preference.

That perspective would keep me polishing that wing and my bubble canopy repeatedly!
