Nice!

Are those full span ailerons?

Do they also serve as flaps (flaperons)?

Anyway, cool plane.

We need to get together. Saturday I'll be at Blairsville for a Young Eagles event if you want to stop by.

I'll try to send you a PM.

Thanks Morden - it did hold, but I'm not so sure I like the perspective, I'll have to play with the GoPro settings a bit to see if I can find something with less fisheye. I'm also eyeballing a mount on the bottom of the horizontal stab that will show the landing gear - I just think that would be cool!

Yep those are full span ailerons, but no flaperons (although that would be cool). What's the designation for Blairsville?

KDZJ

After the event, I would still like a ride in your plane. 185 lbs for planning purposes.

Open invitation if anyone needs an excuse to fly!

The Young Eagle flights start at 10A.

Usually wrapping up by noon.

That might be a good time to aim for for socializing, swapping rides - whatever.

We plan to be wheels up by 9 and have to be back no later than 12. We may pop in and say hi on the front end.

Deal.

Weather (fog) permitting, we should arrive around 9A to get set up and briefed on procedures.

Excellent point. Very common in that area especially after all this rain...

Great flying day!

Low turnout at Blairsville for the Young Eagles, but I did get to fly one.

Met up with Flocker and a friend there and touched base.

Then Hirschr flew his Ercoupe over to Copperhill and we swapped rides. Pretty sure it was my first time in an Ercoupe - did not know what to do with my feet. Got to take both him and his daughter up in the Sky Arrow, and I think they both enjoyed it.

Hard to believe this darn thing is one year older than me:

And I'm pretty darn ancient!

Anyway, we both tried to get GoPro videos. I'll see what I got and maybe post it later.

Cool!

iMovie keeps crashing on me - I'm trying to figure out why. I will make this work somehow and I did get some decent videos.

Wait...

Are we talking dog years?

Anyway, I got my Mac squared away. 7 year old MacBook Pro that I upgraded the HD to 750gb a few years ago. iMovie kept crashing when I went to import yesterday's movies. Used Time Machine to restore an earlier copy of iMovie, to no avail. Then Disk Utility showed I had errors in directories and some permission problems. Suggested rebooting into the Recovery Partition to repair the disk, and that seemed to work - I started the lengthy import last night and it did not crash.

Still, kinda lusting after the new MacBook. Probably overdue for one.

Back on topic, got decent enough video to throw something together, which I'll try to do later today.
