First Cub solo (not mine)

Post by FastEddieB »

Someone posted this to the Pilots of America site, and I thought it was too cool not to share:

What a great testament to the pure joy of flying.

Sometimes I think we get caught up in gadgets and minutea, and it's just so cool to get back to basics.

Way cool, but I don't get why the video title calls it a J-3. It has an electric starter!

OK, I answered my own question. Looked up the N number. It's listed as a 1946 J-3C, but it has a Lycoming O290 engine, 140 HP. So, certainly not stock (and that explains the electrical system)

I've been accused of being paranoid, but I couldn't stop imagining what the open-ended stick would do to William in a sudden stop, since he had no shoulder harness.
