Light Sport Training in Orlando, Florida

Sport aviation is growing rapidly. But the new sport pilot / light-sport aircraft rules are still a mystery to many flight schools and instructors. To locate a flight school offering sport pilot training and/or light-sport aircraft rentals, click on the "Flight School And Rental Finder" tab above. This is a great place to share ideas on learning to fly, flight schools, costs and anything else related to training.

I am looking for a CFI offering Sport Pilot instruction and has a light sport plane to train/rent. Any info would be most appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the forum!

You're lucky to be in Florida, certainly an active LSA and Sport Pilot area.

Take a look at this site; lots of Florida instructors with planes:

And here's a link to the forum's Training map:

Are you a total beginner to flying?

Good to have you here!

LSA training

Stop by the Florida Flying Gators airfield when they have a morning meeting and ask about training. The Gators have a club meeting the first Saturday of each month at 11am at their club house. The next meeting is March 7th at 11am.

There are also two LSA schools at the Orlando/Apopka airport. First Landings Aviation, which uses a Remos G-3, and Grizzly aviation, which does weekend training in a Gobosh 700S.

Websites are http://www.firstlandings.com and http://www.grizzlyaviation.com

Has anyone seen the new sky catcher out?

Post by flyboy »

We have seen a few of them around. They are pretty aircraft, but apparently when talking to one of the owners they said it just wasn't able to handle much weight, I guess he had tried to go heavy and said it was pretty scary... wondering if anyone has any feedback yet that is training in the Cessna LSA. Thanks
