I mentioned a leg west from Amarillo, TX on our Page trip. We spent an extra night in Amarillo due to 60+ kt winds from the NW at 9,000’. And you have to be close to that altitude due to terrain. Not to mention what I recall was an AIRMET for moderate to severe turbulence surface to 18,000’. Very similar to what you’d face today:



Stipulated it’s probably somewhat calmer in the tunnels!

A good time to mention one needs to be very flexible on scheduling on a trip like this. That counts double for a new-to-you E-AB this time of year.

As I said, take plenty of cash and two credit cards. A two or three day trip can turn into a two week trip. You also never know when your credit card will get hacked and you need to shut it down. That happens to me about once a year. It just happened again last week. Someone charged a $215.99 item to my card. Last year it was $700 worth of women's clothing. I don't wear women's clothing.

In my few encounters with Tim he was not wearing women’s clothing.

At least not visibly.
