Prop Filter

Post by deltafox »

My Garmin Prop Filter (neutral density) was delivered this week and I had my first chance to fly with it yesterday. I like the effect.

I like it. The prop is obviously there, but the image isn't distracting at all. More like real life.

I wonder if it would work on my Sky Arrow?

No magic here, as a neutral density filter will help most cameras lessen/eliminate the weird prop stuff. It just darkens things a bit, so the shutter has to stay open longer and blurs the action. A fast shutter is more like a strobe, creating stop-action. I'm surprised a camera meant for action/aviation doesn't have a shutter setting or override that would slow it down internally.... a "blur the prop" button
