RC plane fun...on steroids!

Post by Daidalos »

You may have seen this. Not a good day for the future of manned aircraft.

The pilot is on the endangered list it seems. This little 4 minute Boeing
video is really something.... a first for a full size jet airplane. Thousands of
planes that were grave yard bound, with costs in the hundreds of millions,
now can be used as never before. These F-16 aircraft have been in the bone
yard at Davis-Monthan AFB for more than for 15 years and are
now being used as drones!

The US has been using remotely piloted F4 Phantoms as drones for years.

I have watched remote control F86's, F100's, and F4's from the late 70's on... When they ran out of one model, they moved on to the next. Used as targets.
