Well, at least I passed....
Took the written this morning. 93%. Not quite as good as I was hoping, but no complaints.

Anything over 90% is essentially acing it. Congrats!

Re: Well, at least I passed....
Good job!
Re: Well, at least I passed....
I'm not sure the way the tests are generated is a good way to do it. I had many chart questions, and they were all about airspace and frequencies. Not one single solitary navigation question. Nothing about headings, compass errors, etc.
Also only one or two weather questions. I probably studied that section the hardest.
It doesn't seem like the random 40 question draw does a good job of touching all subjects.

Re: Well, at least I passed....
Congrats!!! I agree that the randomness of the written is weird but so what!!! You passed!!!
I did an online ground school after 35 years away to get back into things ... Took a practice test basically cold ... It was generated the same way; almost every question I got wrong was reading a VOR dial ... I got like 7 of those questions!
And studying the weather and the rest is the point, not the test.
Good luck with the rest of it!
Cheers!

Re: Well, at least I passed....
When I took the test about four months ago, the test was on a computer, but there was a book that I needed to reference as well. For instance, the question would be "Where does Class E airspace start at Podunk airport?" And it would refer me to page 22 in the book, which was a standard sectional printout. This was a CATS testing facility.B747 wrote:how is the sectional chart questions represented?

The computer had the figures, but it was difficult to scroll and zoom. I used the book.
Do you have a copy of the supplement? If not, order one and see how you do with the colors in print. They will have the same book at the test center.
