At least the worst we can expect here is beaver infested lakes and , if you are really unlucky, an occasional angry raccoon - and in winter it doesn’t matter anyway since most lakes are frozen and are like landing strips ...

We have these too but they are fewer and farther between. I see pilots flying left pattern on the one runway we have which is a right pattern all the time.

It is, I even forgot about the sinkholes you mentioned, the county north of me (Pasco County) is known as the sinkhole capital of the world. Things are getting swallowed there all the time without notice.
