Towered Airport Endorsement
To make a long story short.....Started my PPL training at a Class D Airport in a Cessna 172. Did around 21 hours including a solo cross country talking to a tower. Decided I wanted to go the sport route, had all the "requirements" knocked out, finished up and received my SP certificate at a non-towered field. My question would be...Do I actually need the endorsement for towered airports or does my 21 hours of training at a towered airport suffice to be able to fly in Class D airspace?
Re: Towered Airport Endorsement
As a Sport Pilot, you absolutely need that logbook endorsement. But, if you previously met the FAR 61.325 requirements as to requisite number of landings to a full stop with taxi-back in a Class Delta, you have satisfied the endorsement qualifications. Just have your prior CFI give you the logbook endorsement. The exact language can be found in my samples, here:

The opinions posted are those of one CFI, and do not necessarily represent the FAA or its lawyers.
