I have no experience with electronic CO detectors. Here's the easy $5 solution many of us use. Note that it only works if you include the dot in your panel visual scan.

Here's a couple of video links that were posted on our SportCruiser forum with some recommended units.

I have tested the $5 solution and wasn't impressed ... it takes a lot of CO for it to start changing colors and it is hard to notice in the first place . I went with the Forensics unit reviewed in the first video posted by ShawnM last year and it has been working great.

I've heard the same thing, by the time you notice it even in your scan it could be too late. Maybe it's better than nothing.

My test was basically holding both of these devices in front of a car exhaust and waiting for activation - both do work so I guess it is better than nothing but I would probably be dead before I noticed the $5 dollar one - especially in a wide 360 degrees canopy plane like mine.

I just watched both videos, and I'm sold! I'm ordering a digital CO detector today. Thank you, Shawn and Warmi.
