There's hundreds of flying clubs around the country that own and manage aircraft for their members. Aside from the camaraderie, clubs make flying more affordable.
I'll just add, if you are a student and want to form a flying club as a way to own an airplane and learn to fly, there is nothing wrong with that as long as you and the other members understand the risk and are willing to pay for the increased insurance cost. You could charge students higher monthly fees for the increased insurance cost if you wanted to.
Retired from flying.
