Exactly. One good reason it's silly, offensive and stupid to paint every Apple customer as a bigot or simpleton is that one's choice might be based on the larger picture. I have a wicked fast desk-top PC on my desk but I now rarely use it. Why did I buy a Mac desktop? Because my bride finds the Apple OS on her MBPro to be easily used and detests the Microsoft OS. Why did I not shop the entire phone market before buying my 5s? Same reason. We now share apps, the paper appointment book is dead as a dodo and both our lives and volunteer work is now integrated in a way it otherwise wouldn't be.
Having said all that, how do I feel when I boot up the good ol' PC? I feel thankful my wife likes the Apple environment.

Skunk,
Thanks for in-depth review, quick question: I assume ForeFlight appears on the 6+ as an iPhone not iPad app. If so, do you like the interface in this screen size? Do you wish the interface was more like on the iPad?
I also have the large iPad Air (with ForeFlight and Stratus) and use it every time I fly, and am considering the 6+ as a backup. (I wouldn't want to navigate by the 5s screen)
fyi, I also have an MGL EFIS but find ForeFlight much more useful for navigation in flight.
Thanks for the help,
-Craig

Re: iPhone 6+
It is absolutely the phone style interface, and frankly I think that Foreflight has some tweaks to make to take advantage of the screen. To be candid, there are very few apps out there that can actually take advantage of the new real estate that makes sense to be slightly bigger than that of a phone.cogito wrote:Skunk,

I've been wanting an iPad mini to use as a panel-mount since the iPad Air is typically a bit too large to truly make sense in a panel that isn't designed to accommodate it, but at the same time, the iPad mini is yet another device that i'd have to either figure out how to make sense into my daily life, or become something I ONLY used for aviation. I can currently use my iPad Air for my marine maintenance logs, marine navigation, aviation nav (and is decompression tested), and for note taking @ work... the iPhone 6+ seems to fit my uses, and is a bit smaller than the iPad mini... I've flown in a WT9, sport cruiser, Remos GX, and SkyCatcher with the iPad Air, and all but the 162 seemed to not have a good place for it. I'm flying an Ercoupe in the next few weeks, as that's now the closest (and cheapest) thing to me, so I'll let you guys know how that goes.
