Today I took Delta our 2.5 year old lab for her maiden flight in my RV12. Lifted her in the plane and she climbed in the back after folding the seat down. She did great for her 30 min flight.
I now have a another flying companion

It's all new to her. She didn't freak out, so that's good!Wm.Ince wrote:She doesn't look all that happy.

No pilot's happy if they have to sit on the jump seat!Wm.Ince wrote:She doesn't look all that happy.

I think the hearing protector is what she did not like. She did great laid down after we got up to altitude.

Wish I could take mine. Too high strung.

Actually, Benadryl makes my dog more manic. Vet says that's common and all dog-dependent. He might be okay in a couple of years when he calms down a bit more.

Delta Oscar Golf - inflight video
Our 2 year old lab loves to go flying - I lift her up and she crawls back where she belongs and waits till we get out to help her out of the back.

Just seeing these now...fun pics and vid!
I did a dog rescue flight back at the end of January...we put Dexter's bed in the back of the C172R that I rented, and this 90 lb hound mix just jumped right in and settled down. He slept for most of the 2h 45m flight from SFQ/Suffolk, VA up to 7B6/Skylark, CT (just east of BDL/Windsor Locks...I had a 40 kt tailwind at 7.500' going north, so I was doing 155-160 kts over the ground for the most the flight), occasionally poking his head between the seats to supervise me.

Cool! Those doggy ear muffs stay in place pretty well.
